Care and Outreach

I give you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, so you also must love each other. This is how everyone will know that you are my disciples, when you love each other.” John 13:34-35, Common English Bible

These are among the last words Jesus gave to his disciples the night before He was crucified. Taking care of one another is a natural extension of the Christian life.

Our pastor is available on an appointment basis to offer support during difficult times. Illness, death, family crisis, workplace stress, these are all issues where our pastor can help you find strength and support through our faith. He can meet you at home, in hospital, in her office, or anywhere else you would feel comfortable. You can reach him anytime by leaving a confidential message at 416-977-4786.

If a friend or family member is in need of support from our pastor, do not hesitate to give him a call.

This German speaking seniors group meets monthly from April to December on Wednesdays from 11:00am to 2:00pm. Singing, inspirational talks, good food and great fellowship abound. Come join us—we’re all young at heart, building an ever growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We are friends: old friends making new friends, always allowing the circle to grow wider.  Please contact the Pastor for more information.

Men’s Breakfast is a long time tradition at First. It is always the 1st Saturday of the month, all year round, and meets at the Cora’s restaurant at 27 Carlton St. (between Yonge and Church Streets), a 10-minute walk from the church. First-timers always eat for free.

We partner with local agencies to provide space, volunteers, and donations for wider outreach. We work with the Ryerson Student Union Good Food Centre Break-Feast program, providing free breakfasts to students. We also collect donations for the Toronto Overdose Prevention Society.
