Daniel Erlander’s graphic novel style exploration of Lutheran ethos and theology is the basis of this course. Pastor Ralph Carl Wushke facilitates the eight-session “deeper dive” into the Reformation as it is lives on in our time, supplementing Erlander’s work with sources from contemporary scholars. BOOK STUDIES
The First Lutheran Book Study Group holds animated online discussions of books on contemporary themes and ideas. Recent titles include Lenny Duncan’s Dear Church: A Love Letter from a Black Preacher to the Whitest Denomination in the U.S., Wab Kinew’s The Reason You Walk and Robin Wall Kimmerer’s Braiding Sweetgrass. Study group members select the book for each study and take turns facilitating a chapter-by-chapter discussion. Please contact the pastor for info.
